George Dunklin, Jr. is the immediate past president of Ducks Unlimited and has served as a volunteer since 1983. In 1983 he founded Five Oaks Duck Lodge near Stuttgart, Arkansas and is now the sole owner. He is also active in timber and agriculture related businesses since 1980 and he farmed rice for 34 years. George served as a commissioner on the Arkansas Game and Fish Commission for seven years and served as chairman his last year. He was appointed by then-governor, Mike Huckabee. George also has served and chaired on numerous church, hospital and civic boards in Arkansas and Jefferson Counties.
He has been married to his wife Livia for 29 years and they have three adult daughters, Megan, Hillary and Lauren. George is a graduate of Memphis State University and played tennis for the MSU Tigers. He and his father won the Arkansas State Father & Son Tennis Tournament four times and he won the 1980 Arkansas State Tennis Championship and ended up ranked #1 that year in Arkansas.
George has served on the DU Board since 2003 was elected the 42nd president in Portland, Oregon in May 2013 and became Chairman of the Board in May 2015. In 2015 he was inducted into the Arkansas Outdoor Hall of Fame.
George is originally from Pine Bluff, Arkansas and now he and Livia live on their family farm in Arkansas County, Arkansas between DeWitt and Stuttgart.
Greenhead is proud to present the inaugural Arkansas Waterfowler Hall of Fame. The creation of this new program is a long overdue effort to preserve the contributions of those individuals who have gone above and beyond through dedicated time, resources and other work to enhance the waterfowl industry in Arkansas.
