Kiah Gardner

Kiah was born and raised in Russellville AR. Kiah started hunting with his father when he was 5 years old tagging along on short bird hunting trips and has been hooked on the outdoors ever since.

Kiah started his career with the Arkansas Game &Fish Commission in 1975 that spanned 39 plus years and retired in 2015. Kiah spent his entire career in the Wildlife Management Division. During his career Kiah received the Campbell Award for Employee of the Year and the Dunklin Award for contributions made to wetlands and waterfowl resources in the state.
Kiah also received numerous citations for conducting aerial waterfowl surveys and wood duck banding.
Kiah also received a Partners Award from Army Corps of Engineers.

In 1977 Kiah helped form a Ducks Unlimited chapter in Russellville and served as the first committee chairmen. Kiah later served as a Zone Chairman, District Chairman, served on State Council and MARSH committee. In 1988 Kiah was appointed State Chairman and served for 3 years. In his first year as State Chairman Kiah received a State Chairman Award for leading the nation in net dollar increase over the previous years fundraising and was first State Chairman to net over a million dollars in Arkansas. After term as State Chairman Kiah was elected a National Trustee for 4 years and after that term was elected a National Trustee Emeritus.

Kiah now enjoys retirement with wife Diane in Russellville and has four children and five grandchildren.

Join us for the second annual Arkansas Waterfowler Hall of Fame. The second class will be inducted on November 30, 2017. This evening event will share the stories of the impact of their contributions as waterfowl enthusiasts gather to celebrate this time honored tradition.

The creation of this new program is a long overdue effort to preserve the contributions of those individuals who have gone above and beyond through dedicated time, resources and other work to enhance the waterfowl industry in Arkansas.
